My Garden

I have decided to work on my garden this summer- with mixed results. I am just doing it a little at a time. I love the planting and seeing things grow and bloom, but of course don't enjoy the weeding. Since I don't have kids to blog about, I guess I will blog about my garden!

This is my vegetable garden. Lots of tomatoes and peppers, Yum!

I saw a artichoke plant at Home Depot and thought "what the heck" so I bought it and planted it. It is growing, but we will see if it "bears fruit" or vegetable, hopefully vegetable!

This is my herb garden. Thyme, basil, cilantro, chives, sage and rosemary. I probably won't use them very often, but they smell good.

These are the flowers to a Thai Basil plant. Love how pretty they are. I might have to plant them in my flower garden next year.

I planted some cala lilies in my flower garden and they are starting to bloom. By far the best part of my garden so far. I will definitely plant more of these next year.

A weekend with the family

I was able to go to Utah last weekend and see my family. It is always so much fun to see them and I am glad I live close enough to make a quick weekend trip.

It was my niece Sydney's birthday June 18th- so we had a family party while I was there.

Collin and Sydney and her beautiful birthday cake that Anita made- great job Anita.

It actually was Sydney's party, but I think Danielle opened more of the presents than Sydney did. She is such a big helper!

Ethan and Luke are great cousins. They play well together and they even share their food.

There was a pinata that the kids enjoyed wacking

Luke was very enthusiastic

Danielle and Sydney were very excited when the candy spilled out from the pinata. Who wouldn't be- everyone loves candy.

Me and Payten, I can't believe she is almost 1 year old. She is such a sweetheart

I got to spend some time on the lake. It is always so much fun and as I like to say -- The worst day on the lake is better than the best day at work! And this wasn't even the worst day on the lake!

My trying to air-chair

Still trying to airchair- apparently I can't look up and airchair at the same time- too difficult

I am so glad my brother Troy and his family moved from Texas to Utah. I will get to see them much more often now. I hope Utah treats them better than Texas!

I finally got to meet my newest nephew, Daniel. A real cutie- just like the rest of them

We went to Temple Square and had tons of fun. Apparently kids think fountains are swimming pools or drinking fountains.

Me, Hazel, and Samuel at Temple Square

Samuel and Hazel- very cute kids.

Arches National Park

We spend the first night in a hotel and we really enjoyed the pool
I think Luke enjoyed it more than anyone.

Me, Luke, Danielle, Taylor and Sydney- I have the cutest nieces and nephews!

When we got to the park, Taylor was kind enough to set up a store so we could buy snacks and drinks before going on our hikes. She is quite the business woman.
I love Arches. This trip we kept busy...

We hiked- at least the adults hiked, the kids got rides a lot

We played in the sand

We hiked Landscape Arch

and Delicate Arch (one of my favorites).

We roasted marshmallows. Taylor caught on pretty quickly how to cook a marshmallow. She cooked me one of the best roasted marshmallow I have ever had. Thanks Taylor!

The weather was perfect

Last year got a little chilly- okay freezing. We even had some snow!

The kids spent a lot of time in tents with heaters in 2008

This year the weather was a lot better- notice the shorts
and lack of coats . The kids actually played outside a lot

We even had some really beautiful sunsets

I just had a wonderful vacation at Arches National Park in Southern Utah. Being there brought back a lot of memories, my family used to go to Arches every year for spring break. This trip only part of the family could come, but it was still so much fun. I love camping and hiking to see all the beautiful places we have so close to home. Too bad we had to come back to work, although I am glad to have running water- I miss that when I am camping.

My Kentucky Trip

I know this isn't the greatest picture of me, but I had so show that Joann liked me enough to sit in my lap, at least as long as I was holding Pooh Bear. But she was smiling!
Joann loves her chocolate

Almost as much as she loves Pooh Bear

But I am pretty sure she loves her daddy most of all.

Playing in the park

Last weekend I was able to visit Devin, Lindsay and Joann in Kentucky. It was so much fun to see them and get to see their house and spend some quality time with Joann- I swear by the end of the weekend she almost started to like me! I can't wait until I can go again.

Tag: 6th Folder, 6th Picture

I got tagged. This is a fun one: You find the 6th picture in the 6th folder of your picture files and you post it. It gives you a chance to go back through your pictures and relive some great memories. This is a pictures of me and my nephew Samuel. I was living in Maryland and he and Troy and Amber were living in Virginia. I really enjoyed living only a few hours away from them. I got to spend some great time with all of them and especially Samuel- I think we really bonded. He used to ask his mom to call me so he could talk to me. Now he is older and not to interested in talking on the phone, he is to busy running through life at top speed. I am so happy they will be moving closer in a few months so I can visit them more often, once again.

Caribbean Cruise

The Princess Cays
bon voyage

Snorkeling on St Thomas Island

Me and Lauren

It did get kind of chilly one day.

Ok- I know it has been a while, but I am still feeling my way in the blogging world. So, I went on an amazing cruise to the Caribbean with my mom, my friend Lauren and her mom, Reisha in February. This was my first cruise, but definitely not my last. I loved it. The food, the ship and the entertainment was great, the weather was amazing, and I couldn't ask for better company.

Joining the Blogging world

I, like pretty much everyone else, have given in to peer pressure and joined the blogging world. I have no clue what I am going to write about, my life is that boring, but I will do my best to make it interesting.
