The Frosts visit Boise- September 2009

Rachelle, Greg and the kids came to visit me in Boise for a weekend. We had so much fun and I am so glad they came.

Me and two of the cutest kids in the world, Luke and Danielle. I had to hold them really tight to get them in this picture. They wanted to run around constantly- where do they get the energy?
We tried to tire the kids out at the park
But I think the adults were the ones that got worn out the most

We went to the famous World Center for Birds of Prey. The name is a little more impressive than the actual place. But the kids really enjoyed it and keep saying they want to come back and see it again.
We got to dress up as birds
See how big the birds are
And we even tried to fly- some were more successful than others. I didn't get an inch off the ground.

We also went to the Discovery Center. It was a great place with all sorts of fun activities for the the kids (and the adults enjoyed it too)
We played veterinarian

But mostly we shopped
and shopped

and shopped- it was a hit with all ages.

Lake Powell -2009

So, as you can tell, I am still way behind in my "blogging." But I am trying to catch up. Here are some pictures from some of the great Lake Powell trips I took last summer with my family. I love going to Lake Powell every summer and I can't for it to warm up enough to go again soon.

Luke was such a big help getting ready for the trip
Me and Danielle enjoying the shade in the "cave"
Megan is rocking the Sky Ski
It's time to ski!!!

IT'S NOT REALLY LAKE POWELL WITHOUT FAMILY PORTRAITS

Dad, Mom and Me
Devin, Joann and Lindsay Davidson
Megan, Ethan and Alex Burgin
Samuel, Hazel, Daniel and Amber Davidson
Rachelle, Danielle, Greg and Luke Frost
Sydney, Anita, Taylor, Payten and Collin Davidson

Some pretty fierce pirates- wouldn't want to be attacked by them!
Some girls just know how to relax!
Who do you think she learned this from? Her favorite Aunt Amber?
Daniel got his first Lake Powell trip- he spent most of his time soaking up the sun.

Rafting the Gauley River- September 2009

In September I was able to go whitewater rafting on the Gauley River in West Virginia. For most of the year the river is just a trickle of water. But, every fall when they open up the dam, the river turns into one of the top whitewater rivers in the US- or so I was told. It was amazing. It was the first real whitewater rafting I have done and now I definitely want to do more.

We were attempting to "surf" and I am about to fall out of the boat
Rafting Pillow Rock rapid, we were all supposed to touch the rock with our paddles, as you can see we didn't all make it.

My Garden

I have decided to work on my garden this summer- with mixed results. I am just doing it a little at a time. I love the planting and seeing things grow and bloom, but of course don't enjoy the weeding. Since I don't have kids to blog about, I guess I will blog about my garden!

This is my vegetable garden. Lots of tomatoes and peppers, Yum!

I saw a artichoke plant at Home Depot and thought "what the heck" so I bought it and planted it. It is growing, but we will see if it "bears fruit" or vegetable, hopefully vegetable!

This is my herb garden. Thyme, basil, cilantro, chives, sage and rosemary. I probably won't use them very often, but they smell good.

These are the flowers to a Thai Basil plant. Love how pretty they are. I might have to plant them in my flower garden next year.

I planted some cala lilies in my flower garden and they are starting to bloom. By far the best part of my garden so far. I will definitely plant more of these next year.

A weekend with the family

I was able to go to Utah last weekend and see my family. It is always so much fun to see them and I am glad I live close enough to make a quick weekend trip.

It was my niece Sydney's birthday June 18th- so we had a family party while I was there.

Collin and Sydney and her beautiful birthday cake that Anita made- great job Anita.

It actually was Sydney's party, but I think Danielle opened more of the presents than Sydney did. She is such a big helper!

Ethan and Luke are great cousins. They play well together and they even share their food.

There was a pinata that the kids enjoyed wacking

Luke was very enthusiastic

Danielle and Sydney were very excited when the candy spilled out from the pinata. Who wouldn't be- everyone loves candy.

Me and Payten, I can't believe she is almost 1 year old. She is such a sweetheart

I got to spend some time on the lake. It is always so much fun and as I like to say -- The worst day on the lake is better than the best day at work! And this wasn't even the worst day on the lake!

My trying to air-chair

Still trying to airchair- apparently I can't look up and airchair at the same time- too difficult

I am so glad my brother Troy and his family moved from Texas to Utah. I will get to see them much more often now. I hope Utah treats them better than Texas!

I finally got to meet my newest nephew, Daniel. A real cutie- just like the rest of them

We went to Temple Square and had tons of fun. Apparently kids think fountains are swimming pools or drinking fountains.

Me, Hazel, and Samuel at Temple Square

Samuel and Hazel- very cute kids.
